Is the search volume shown in google keyword planner accurate? If not, how inaccurate is it? for example if a non exact match, 2 word keyword phrase appears to have very little search volume (below 30 searches per month), how many searches can it actually have on average?

Thanks SEO comrades.

As with anything Google says take it with a grain of salt, but I believe it is at least fairly accurate. Now for VERY small terms like you mentioned there must be more room for error given the small sample size. So you're on the right line of thought, though in general I feel it is a good barometer.

Actually, you need to understand, why actually google providing that service. I mean keyword planner tool. Google provides SV for their advertiser. Not actually for us. That's why they are not providing actual result. It's my thoughts. I tried to build keyword research tool. When I worked with their API. It was a really strange experience. Cause google not showing accurate result publicly ever. But you should use it for taking some idea. I am using it for that. That's it.

Do not worry, they are approx result for the previous month.
But, they do increase in the ongoing month :)

It is just rough idea for us to select an appropriate keyword.

To get accurate results; I always choose exact match option ;)
