Keyword research - will using semrush or ahrefs save me time?

Im a newb so i am sorry if this seems like a stupid question, but...

Im researching various ways to do keyword research for my first websites i want to create

I see plenty of free ways to search for keywords using various tools such as"

Google suggests
Google Keyword tool
Keyword finder
Looking thru Quora forums
LSI graph
etc

Using these items above, i would imagine that i could track all the keywords i find in an excel spreadsheet to get a large list

Now....would ONLY using SEMRush or Ahrefs save me all the time spent looking through the above tools.methods? Or am i able to upload my excel sheet list of keywords i have found INTO ahrefs or semrush to check for difficulty & links etc?

Yes, Ahrefs and SEMRush save time for you. Ahrefs is more reliable than SEMRush for keyword difficulty score.
But not 100% depend on tools scoring. Tools just give you a close idea. End of the day you have to do manual
analysis to understand the real competition.

You can also use Ahrefs to export the keywords competitor sites are ranking for.

SEMRush can totally do the job for you and would save you a lot of time. It can have a few lapses and it may only be 99% accurate when it comes to keyword difficult reports, but I believe, it's worth it.

Using different tools will give you a better idea of the keywords to use. Tools give you a good idea of the keyword difficulty, but if you want to check the competition, you better do that manually

You can also use Rank Tracker to do Keyword Research, cause it has 20 different methods all in one tool. As well, you can easily add your keywords manually or export your excel shit into the tool to get all the data like Keyword Difficulty, on-page optimization rate and loads more:

Hi i agree with the advise above. Ahrefs, Semrush all these tools are the way to go. However if you are on a budget try making use of the 14-day free Semrush trial.

Google search console is a great option too. And the google suggested words when you scroll below to the most bottom of the page as you scroll down

the two will save you time. i also suggest you google and learn the keyword golden ratio as it will provide you with awesome long tail keywords that will have you ranked among the top 100 immediately your post is indexed by the search engine

I use SEMRush too. Really helpful to compare how your website is performing as compared to your closest competitors.

It all depends on how you value your time. You can indeed do everything by yourself, researching seed keywords and copying and pasting data into spreadsheets. Or, you can pay a monthly fee and get access to this data in seconds, plus so much more, freeing your time up for actually using this data instead of just accumulating it.
