Just wondering about your opinions... Which would you use? Market Samurai, Long Tail Pro, or nothing. Nothing being that you just use Google Keywords Tool and analyze the competition of each keyword one by one? or are there other tools that are better that you use?

I use long tail pro, but it's real value comes from having the monthly subscription, which then gives you keyword competition scores.

Keyword tools are good to use for reference but they can never give you the fullest picture. Use market samurai to get an idea before you could get some additional checks done manually.

I've always had most of my success with long tail keywords using google keyword planner, never under estimate the value of long tail keywords and build to shorter keywords once you are more established.

A word of warning, the LTP difficulty rating is about as useful as a dead parrot.

I would go with keyword revealer, it has one of the better difficulty ratigns out there.

dont they both use Moz api for keyword difficulty score ??

Open site explorer is one of the best tools which reveals up to 20 keywords that are used for building back links of any website.

Ultimate niche finder is pretty good for me. I think all of these tools are good for narrowing down a massive list of keywords but they all require double checking.

I heard that too, but when I did a large test sample to compare difficulty ratings to look for correlations, LTP had one of the WORST correlations, even directly with MOZ... Infact, exact match search results had a better correlation. LTP difficulty score is BUSTED... but still a damn sight better than UNF difficulty, that is probably the worst.

Actually looking at the top 10 results is the only way to get AN IDEA of how hard a keyword is. Actually ranking a website is THE ONLY to know.
