Keyword research software, which do you prefer?

Not sure if I'm posting this in the right section but I'm doing some keyword research and would like to know what software you guys use for this and why.. I've seen a lot of different options.

It's very individual how people search for kw's so you will get a lot of different answers. I use Traffic travis, G. adwords and a lot of manual work.
 
I use Brad callen Niche finder. Very useful one for me.

Just remember to manual look at the sites, if you find something interesting. A lot of times will TT show that a competitor don't have kw in title or might not be in dmoz, event hough they are!

But it's a great tool to get a quick overview of the amount of backlinks to your competitors.
 
Market Samurai is good but its dog slow on my computer so I had to quit using it. I use GKT and seobook mostly now
 
Fetching the keywords with market samurai, filter them as per your needs, just verify their figures with google adwords keyword tool and you're good to go.

I love micro niche espionage for getting my keywords but as it uses semrush.com database, it has got limitations with the keywords in comparison to adwords keyword tool.
 
google's external keyword tool is awesome.

However I use link assistant's rank tracker for keyword suggestions and webceo.

basically a combination of them all.
 
google keyword tool is FREE and will be good enough to get keyword suggestions

of payed software i like TT best, it has some nice indicators for your competition
 
Yeah, go with google's free keyword tool. It has everythiing you need to start earning money.

How accurate are any of these tools with searches and whatnot? Depends on who you talk to. Some swear by them; some swear at them. Go with free for now, then once you start banking, then switch to a paid.
 
Thanks for all the feedback guys, I understand that a combination of software and manual research is probably the best solution overall.
 
I was using Market Samurai, until it started getting a little slow. Still a good tool, IMO. Other than that, I use a few of my own tools.
 
I found SEnukeX's niche research to be really awesome. I wouldn't personally compare it to Market Samurai, but combined together and combined with Google Keyword Tool, they are gold. Each has it's lacks and neither of them is 100% sure-accurate. That's why they say to always cross-check everything.

edit: and yeah, MS is realy slow. I thought it was only on my comp. Good to know I'm not the only one finding this.
