keyword research question

iave found a keywords with 90k exact searches a month
competition is less ......
is that possible to rank this keyword quickly with an exact match domain with dashes in between ?

I did some tests in the past, exact kw without dashes beats kw with dashes in terms of speed.

On the other hand you gotta play with what you're dealt

Meaning if all you can get is the dash included domain, you have no choice...

First of all,please tell me how you are checking competition.If you are checking it via Keyword tool[the green bar],you are committing a mistake.It provides advertisers competition.

Check the competition by the number of and the quality of backlinks top 10 ranking sites have.

If good,then you can rank for the KW.Also,there's not a problem with dashes

Have you checked the exact searches for that keyword. Most of the time there will be big difference between those two search results

iam doing research with traffic travis pro and its 90,500 exact searches globally and 70k exact searches in usa itself .... the competition is showing low and its only 2 % ......

i checked the exact match domain but its already taken ...so i tried using some dashes in between and its available

yes exact search 90,500 globally and 70k usa itself

Traffic Travis is currently broken due to the change in the Google PR API. Right now it's saying that every single page is PR 0 which is causing it to say that keywords are way easier to rank for than they are.

Try running the #1 site through Ahrefs to see their backlinks, that should give you a much better idea of how tough the keyword is

It's possible to rank with any domain if you've got a good number of quality back links.

An exact match domain counts for quite a bit but at the end of the day back links win out every time. Having hyphens is fine as long as it's not excessive. For example, I wouldn't use a domain name with more than 3 hyphens in it. Normally I wouldn't even use one with 2. I'd prefer to use a phrase match domain that puts the keyword first and uses a short and sensible end word so I can get a hyphen-less .com.

For example, I'd probably opt for DogTrainingBookWorld.com over Dog-Training-Book.com, however, if I was after "Dog Training", I'd probably go for Dog-Training.com over DogTrainingWorld.com.

But it also depends on how you intend to build back links. It's much easier to get people to link to an information resource site, personal site or something like that which doesn't seem like a commercial site.

So it would be easier to get people to link to DogTrainingGuides.com or DogTrainingResources.com than Dog-Training.com.

Then again, if you're using link building services, automated tools or linking from your own sites for most of your back links, this doesn't matter.

as far as onpage optimization it is fruitful, but you have to consider other onpage factors also like description etc. moreover you have to consider offpage optimization to get good results and in this regard you have to focus on back links, directory submission, social media etc. the effect of all this will improve traffic and resultantly higher PR.

Exact domain is just a 5% from the seo... you can rank any domain for specific keyword.. so don't worry
