Hello everybody!

After reading a few things about keyword research I've started to do my first one today

After searching for 2 hours and approximately 15 niches I haven't found a "golden keyword" yet .. These are my first steps on this topic and that's why I wanted to ask if it's usual that it takes so long to find good ones..

here's my procedure:

1. Look on cbengine for good products with high gravity.

2. put the main keyword of the chosen product in market samurai's ( I'm using the cracked one from the download area) keyword research

3. checking all keyword with senuke's batch research to see which ones are not too competitive.

4. after chosing a keyword which is not too competitive check it with market samurai's "SEO competition"

and here's my problem.. everytime i check a keyword with seo competition I get really hard competitors in the first top ten rankings.. at least it's my opinion..

here's an example of a keyword..

long tailed keyword with 5 words
allintitle results: 1460
senuke says the dificulty rating is "doable"
monthly searches according to marketsamurai: 5340

I've also attached a screenshot of market samurais results for this keyword.
as you can see almost every site has got pagerank.. allthough they have next to no backlinks... the domain age is also pretty high on many pages..

furthermore there are sites like squidoo, youtube, ezinearticles... is it bad or can I beat them easily?

so what would you recommend? should I go for it? any other tips?
