keyword research and reports - i need a better way?

Guys,

Im wondering if anyone out there would share with me a good way of generating keywords for my seo but mainly my ppc ads?
I have used the same method (google tool now planner) for years and i just keep thinking im missing a trick (or two).

I should mention im based in the UK so need a methods that can be used on a geo basis!

It can search based on country and language.
