Keyword ranking reacts for both changing and modifying content on the site. If the content is still unique and quality, keywords will rank up gradually. Based on the ranking position, you have to do some quality backlinks again to beat your competitors.

Learn about guest blogging and reach out to your niche relevant blogs and ask them if they open for content contribution.
Another tip is to search "your keyword + write for us". Filter out the quality sites and follow their guest post guidelines.

It doesn't matter if your site is new or not. All they want is the quality content as per their guidelines. You simply place your contextual link in it.

Reverse engineer. Use a reliable seo software to identify the links of your top 5 competitors. Filter out high do follow links. Make your own list based off the top domains with the highest Domain Ratings.
Make sure to explore the exact links of your competitor to understand how to get the same links. You will discover free and paid links.

Try use to re-phrase the content with targeted keywords and ensure the proper keyword density is added.

Yes. Some bloggers will accept. But you have to have at least 10+ content and average monthly visits. Most of the big website owners accept to provide links to authority sites. Charges will be high.
Content must be very high quality and well-researched. Don't use your money keywords on guest post content. Use related keywords. Ask them to do social media share once they publish your content. They may have their own social media profile, they will share.
