I think, in the matter of keyword difficulty, anybody is not sure which keyword checker is best. we to do a complete analysis of keywords. i use the Moz SEO tool for the keyword difficulty checker, because when we check difficulty in Moz, and search keywords on Google, we will get low Domain authority sites. after more analysis, we can finalize the keyword.
I would say that Semrush is good but you have to consider the intent behind every keyword. If you think a keyword is showing just 20 difficulty, so it's good to write on it, it might be a commercial keyword. Always check the SERPs for every keyword.
Ahrefs is good, and other tools are also based on similar concept so you can use those as well.
One thing that I recommend for researching keywords is also use google search operators to know how many competitors are using the particular keyword in their content (operator - "Keywords"), title(operator - intitle: or allintitle, anchors (operator - inachor: or allinanchor etc. as this data is usually not displayed in most of the keyword research tools but it can give you good details of how many pages are exactly your competition in search results, and with checking these competitors, you can also know how you need to plan your content (to rank above them)
