I am doing some on-site SEO and i want to know is there such thing as to much keyowrd density? Will i be penalized by having a keyword density of say 15% ???
Or will it help me out to have a higher keyword density ??
I wouldn't suggest going over %6, on-page SEO doesn't, well really effect too much towards the overal ranking of the website, obviously it helps, but stuffing a load of keywords into a article isn't going to make you jump 100 spots.
Let me explain what else i am doing i had a website ranked in top 3 pages for almost all of my keywords i wanted to rank for it sabout 80 keywords or so. I want to be #1 for my main keyword as does everyone so i decided to add more pages to the existing website. So i am creating an additional 80 pages each new page would be optimized for 1 keyword.
The links are going to be added in a pyramid type structure with 3 levels
main level<main keyword<long tailed keywords
so what i did was create one page of content and i spun it over and over again at around 40-50% unique content. I then optimise each page for the specific keyword i want. I finished about 10 pages so far and i checked theire keyword density and some keywords have up to 20% density. I am guessing i will have to change it to make it 5-8% as suggested is that correct?
I think you can still download Dupefree Pro, you have to opt in for it. Some of the options on it do not work, they are in the process of a new release. Just google it easy to find.
You can also use it to check if your article is unique on google, the yahoo and msn functions are broke. Can also compare two articles, and check Kw density.
Keep in the title, keep in the first para, keep some in open para and use some later words and sure to use keywords in concluding para.
Above everything you are writing for human - so ensure your readability is good and not turns the reader away. Bounce rate is sth I am sure G will be taking into account.
Anything more than 4 percent defininetely looks like keyword stuff -
