Hey guys,

I have always thought that each article must have a focus keyword (with all the neccessary on-page SEO work.) While this is correct, I have had a couple people tell me that I should mention the same keyword on other pages on my domain, is that correct?

I never mentioned any target keyword for a blog post on other blog posts (on the same domain) as I thought i would create competition for myself. The only exception is when I am building internal anchored links.

What is your opinion? Should I mentioned my target keywords a couple times in other blog posts, even though those other posts are not trying to rank for it and are targeting other keywords? Will this make my over keyword strength stronger since google sees the entire site as an authoritative source for answers to my keyword?

Any suggestions welcome..

Cheers

I think it's fine to mention your keyword in other posts. Just place a link back to the page you want to rank using the desired keyword as your anchor text.

I would rather leave the keyword in other posts, especially if it fits there naturally, and stop playing tricks with the text. Interlinking is always a good idea

And what if i mentioned the keywords on the other posts (that are not focused on that keyword), will it strengthen my overall domains authority on that keyword? I was under the impression that google ranks pages, not domains.. But what if a single page has optimized on-page SEO keywords, and then other pages mention the same keywords, will it positively improve my domains dominance for that keyword?

I hope you follow my train of thought :P
