Keyword Competition

Up until now, I thought low competition keywords were good when you are searching for keyword in G tool.

And i think i am misunderstanding BIG, and need a clarification here.

So the competition from G tool means the adwords competition, meaning number of people using the keyword to put up their adwords, right? and as it goes higher, the estimated cpc goes relatively higher.
so higher competiiion from G tool is actually GOOD thing to look for.

and when people here are saying low competition means the number of the website that I would have to compete for SEO, right?

so the higher competition from G tool has nothing to do with the 'low competition' that ppl are saying in this forum. am i right?

Yes, low competition is usually referring to the sites you're going to be competing with in the SERPS.

Often there's a correlation between adwords competition and SERPS competition, but that doesn't mean you can't find a high paying phrase with low SERPS competition.

Oh thx for clarification, so there IS somehow some kind of correlation, and I really can't figure out whats the reason behind it.

though, i found a keyword with 3000 exact, and high competition and its approx cpc is $30. from Google Serp, there are 1.0 million containing that keyword, and 30000 with intitle.

Can this be an example of good keyword, low-mid competition with 'high competition from google keyword tool' ?

G. Adw0rds tool will show you the competition related to paid traffic and does not nessesarily reflect the competition in a regular G. search.

Yes and no. You can't tell how easy a kw is to rank for, by looking at G. adwords tool!

I am totally confused here. You have messed up every concept known for years.

Yes, competition means the number of sites using those key words and you need to compete with them for your SERP ranking.If you are a newbie, its always advisable to choose a key word with less competition so that it will be easier for you to get the ranking.Later you can change the key words.

they are not related 100%, for example, if you put up an ad for a item that sells for $1000, and profits from it for $500, you can set your maximum bid higher,

whereas, if your product is only $5 and you make $2 out of it, you obviously can't set your maximum bid as high.
