Keyword cannibalization... Am I doing just fine?

Hello.

So I have a set of keywords.

Example:

Keyword:
quickbrownfox.
the emd is bestcoloredshirts.com


Part 1:
For every article I write/buy:

Title: Different from the keyword.
Topic:Related to the keyword.
As long as the keyword is always in each and every article.

Correct me if I'm wrong but this is how we target keywords in our emd sites right?

As long as the keyword is being mentioned in every article and every article is on topic to avoid being seen by Google as keyword stuffing, that should be okay.




Part 2:
Now, keyword cannibalization.

To avoid this, what I did is to write some articles using related keywords with high searches as well so not all of my article will use my main keyword.

So besides the keyword bestcoloredshirts, I also use some related keywords in some of the articles like bestcoloredpants, awesomecoloredsocks etc...

Or I misunderstood it completely?

You do want semantically related keywords to be present in your article. Don't worry about cannibalization. A "natural" looking link profile is more likely to stay up longer and bring you more SERP dividends in the long run.
