keyword analysis tool and proxy

I am looking to start IM using amazon affiliate. As a first step I was looking to do some keyword analysis. I did some using Google adword tool. Then tried a trial software PowerSuite however the moment I used my IP kind of got flagged by Google and now have to enter captcha for even a google search.

Few Questions (I am very new so looking to keep Budget bare minimum.)

1) Should I be using proxy before using any seo tool.
2) If so, are public proxies good enough or should I be looking towards VPS.
3) Some tools I see automatically uses proxy for querying other sites. Any suggestion for such free or trial software (Better if its little cheaper to buy later. I looked at SEOMoz that has trial but too costly for me, Keyword Squire doesn't have any trial version). I am looking to find keyword suggestions and for each keyword search vol, cpc and competition.

Let me see what I can do here.

1) Proxies are very good to have. I personally get my proxies from buyproxies.org
2) Public proxies are not as reliable, not always anonymous and very slow. If you want public proxies then I recommend you get scrapebox or another piece of kit to harvest/test them.
3) For keyword research I like using a tool to help speed things along. I use Ultimate Niche Finder (found on this website in the marketplace) to help speed up the keyword research process. You will need public or private proxies to use the tool. It costs ~$50 if you purchase through this forum I believe. You can accomplish everything that it does manually and if you are on a limited budget then earn some money first.

As a side note: Google just made an update to Adwords sometime today so keyword tools will need to update to accommodate.

Hope that cleared things up. Other people will have different opinions and suggestions but this is currently how I'm doing things.

Probably Google updating the tool could be the reason.

Guess will wait for a day to decide on proxies. Maybe the tools gets an update. Else looks we need a large number of proxies if we want to do hit and trial initially.

3) I checked the promotional video for Ultimate Niche Finder. The tool looks good however could not determine whether it gives more information on competition other than a consolidated difficulty number such as for a keyword in the top 20 results each result with what Page Rank, Number of backlinks, age etc... At that cost Keyword Squire 2 also looks pretty good.

Yes you should always use a reliable dedicated private proxy provider. There are several members in this forum that sell solid private proxies. If you want to know who they are just PM me or ask or search the forum.

Public proxies get banned all the time because people abuse them. Are you sure you want to use a proxy that is being abused for your seo research purposes? Additionally you don't who is looking at the data you are generating through the public proxy, your competitor could own the public proxy you are using!

Just search the marketplace and you'll find everything you need there.

Having private or semi-private proxies at your disposal really helps out. The proxies don't have to solely go towards keyword research and can also be used for link building.

Ultimate Niche Finder is the tool that I use and I can vouch for it. It shows the general difficulty (very easy-very hard), the number of backlinks for the website in 1st position, domain authority of page in first position and more. Either way, with these keyword research tools you will NEED to double check their output. Before following through with a keyword I always run the website in first position through ahrefs, majestic seo and/or open site explorer.

There are other tools like Traffic Travis, Market Samurai, Longtail Pro, etc. Some are free and some offer trials. I use UNF and have no experience with any of them though.
