Keyword advice - may have found a good one!

Ive been using longtailpro platinum for my keyword research and ive found a keyword that has a single word, 18.1k local searches and a competitive rating of 1.

The question is how can i verify this data? As in check that its accurate?

The keyword is a physical item that could be monitised through amazon so if i can confirm the data is accurate it could be extremely valuable.

So how do i do it?

look at the top 5 or 10 ranked sites and check out their backlink stuff and see if they actually have an idea they are specifically targeting the keyword.

Sounds like a bug. Enter it into the free trial of keyword revealer / semrush to get more metrics.

Have a look at the top ten results in the SERPS, their DA / PA, titles, article length, Heading tags and links etc. etc and see if they're targeting the keyword.

If it's an 18k search term there's probably a bunch of LT search terms (i.e "Best Widget for xyz) that you could target as well.

Thanks for the advice.

keyword revealer states a competitiveness of 35 and a monthly search of 301k which is way different though possibly more accurate lol.

However, as far as i can tell the keyword revealer data only goes upto 2013 - i cant seem to see any data more recent than that.

KC of 1? Sounds impossible. And what about Avg. DA and PA and page links of top competitors? You should also consider these factors. Also, long tail keywords convert better, thus it would be a better idea to use keywords with commercial intend. For example, not motorcycle helmet but motorcycle helmet REVIEWS or BEST motorcycle helmets. CR will be much higher in this case.

The competition is the usual suspects - the manufacturer, amazon, john lewis, costco, twitter...

Definately looks like some sort of bug doesnt it?

Id actually searched for buyer keywords and one of the results was the one in question.
