Key Components to an Article for Submission

So, I just bought a domain and need to start writing a couple articles to submit to do some manual backlinking.

What are the components I need to incorporate in the article?

Word Count, keyword density, etc.

Also, which sites should I submit to & how many articles to start?

articles can be short depending on your site...you can write a compelling article like for a 100 words and link back to your site telling readers for the entire article check out my site where you will have a big 500 to 700 word article if you are good at writing it can go as high as 1000...just a suggestion
keep your primary key word density to 2 %
