Keeping same domain name, changing content of website

I'm thinking of completely changing my website around. It used to be a sports content website, but I'm thinking of moving over to electronics/technology. Domain is over a year and half old and gets around 500 UV/day. Same server, host and everything else, just the content will be different.

Will changing my content completely have any negative impact on SEO? Will it have any noticeable impact at all?

It will affect your website negatively in my opinion, if it affects it at all. Your better off just starting with a new domain. But, stranger things have happened before. More so because you are switching from sports to electronics, which is a major change. It's not like you adding / editing content related around sports.

I don't think it affects seo.... infact it is good if you get new and unique content on your website...

I think your site will get negativity impacted in the SERP's as the Google bot knew the history of this site as one particular niche and if you change this, I am pretty sure it will drop in the SERP's.

As Everyone is telling, YES it will affect. Its ranking somewhere only bcoz of content. And if u change it, then surely its gonna affect ur rankings and traffic. Why dont you get a new domain name and start?

Yea man, it sucks, but start over. It'd be easier anyway. Don't have to mess with the old/previously existing content. And you will always have it. You know? So just keep it.

And, you'll have a blog you can link to right away

I know everybody already said it, but it will hurt your ranking! However, you could bounce back, but who know when, think about it before you do anything

If you still want to use the same domain you can delete the site completely and request google to remove your cached pages/content.

If you have time to start then i recommend you to wait for few months then start working on your new site. You can also consider removing all your backlinks to play in safer site.
