This is perhaps more grey hat - or maybe just using your frigging initative...
Driving in the car today listening to a radio station... jingle comes on and it says something like:
"Save money - Get Vouchers - Go to our website blahblah.com - and type in blahblah deals in the search bar! Start Saving Money Today blahblah.com"
You get the idea obviously I replaced the real names blahblah to protect the innocent - the blahblah.com is actually the radio website and not the voucher site...
So i get home and check it out... OMG i nearly fell off my chair...
The search bar is powered by google the blahblah deals is actually a sponsored ad... whith their ad appearing at the top of the google search results...
The keyterm they ask you to enter in is not their domain name....
You type in the same keyterm direct into google.com they show up top due to the ad placement and their site is there too there but they have minimum competition too...
Compete.com is showing average 3000+ visitors a month for their site
Google keyword tool showing about the same in searches...
So whats the big deal????
Their keyterm as a domain is available albeit hyphenated but it works for me and also for Yahoo!
Their non optimized deals site shows vouchers and discounts for local businesses...
My new hyphenated optimized deals site is going to be filled with a ton of affiliate deals by morning and plastered all over the net...
So whats the "Keep Your Ears and Eyes Open Method" ???
Look around you, check the radio, tv, paper, etc and someone maybe actually doing your promotion and marketing for you...
Since on the radio they don't normally spell out domain names and people often forget the entire advert take advantage of this...
get a keyword related domain and optimize the site in any way you see fit so you get that visitor and convert them into $$$
i will give stats in a day or two....
