Is it possible to keep bulk Gmail/Ymail/Hotmail accounts from being cancelled as inactive by having a script check them using IMAP every month or so rather than having to manually login?

I know most are cancelled after 6-9 months if there are no logins. Does IMAP count as a login?

I use IMAP to keep track of my personal email addresses and haven't logged in via browser for about 5 years on some of them. All are still active.

Good to know, I had some accounts that expired being accessed only by POP, I guess IMAP soves this.

Thanks @seocrab. Which email provider (gmail, yahoo, etc) is it that you are using?

I'm worried it may vary from one to another.
