Kamtschatka - Who has been there?

So I just saw a very nice documentary about Kamtschatka and its beautiful landscape. It really impressed me and I would like to know if anyone here has visited this beautiful place and maybe share some experiences with us. I have heard that it is super cold in winter, but in the summer it should be fine to have a visit there. It seems to be one of the last places on earth that has not been touched by humans which fascinates me.

In case you haven't heard about this place yet, here is some information:

Kamtschatka is a peninsula in Northeast Asia. It belongs to the Kamtschatka region in the Far Eastern Federal District of the Russian Federation. In 1996, the volcanic region of Kamtschatka, which is largely designated as a natural park, declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage.

There are really so many beautiful places on Earth. I just came back from a roundtrip in Japan, it was so wonderful. So fascinating to experience different cultures, meet new people and enjoy stunning landscapes.

That is very cool @soa0611, what can you tell us about the place - How was your experience there? Is it dangerous to visit the volcanoes?

it is a magnificent place. super beautiful. you can hire a helicopter to see all the landscapes. Plus you can snowboard there (i did). No, it is not dangerous.
i really love Sakhalin and Kamchatka, amazing super wild northern nature surrounded by the sea.

i live now in Europe, not been there 7 years now, have very nostalgic feelings about that part of Russia - almost all my childhood and young years i spent there.

Every weekend we were travelling on our jeep to some wild beaches or mountains. I had a mountain with ski infrastructure right near my house, so i snowboarded a lot. Every winter we fished on frozen sea shore (often there were big kamchatkan crabs) or lakes.
