Just when I thought things will go better for me...

I just needed to write this post because I was never in a situation like this. I wrote a few times that I own a property and a business in Nicaragua and I am selling it. Everything was good until I needed to renew my 90 days visa. The immigration googled my name and found out I was giving an interview for our national news about Nicaragua. This is illegal what I did but at the time I didn't know it. So when I was at the border waiting to go back for 7 hours, they finally said someone denied my entry. I said this is ok, I will stay in Costa Rica for 3 days and come back. Today I got a message from a guy I know, they put out arrest warrant for me and I should not try to enter Nicaragua. Just because one stupid interview. So now I am stuck close to the border in Liberia, Costa Rica...anyone of you guys lives here?

Hire a good lawyer in Nicaragua that specializes in immigration / people who've been charged for giving interviews... I can only assume, they have friends in high places. I think it's worth the expense in order to sell your property and business. Then get the hell outa there lol

Man I wanted to hire one of the best lawyers in Nica and he is in a fucking exile in Costa Rica lol

Ask him to refer you to one of his lawyer friends.. These guys keep tight communities. And, I'm sure he'll get a kick-back for referring you..

What on earth possessed you to run an interview, knowing that what you were doing ( as you aren't domiciled there ) wasn't legal and you ran the risk of being arrested / detained?

Can you not put the business and property into a shell company and sell it that way?

Contact your embassy or counsel about it in addition to a lawyer. If you can go to jail for just talking about Nicaragua, you need to consider it a place to never go again.

I didn't know it is illegal to say anything at that point....I contacted a few people but they say everyone is talking about this right now and it will be hard....but I was thinking of another option...sue the whole government in front of their own court and make it live so people can laugh

My next embassy is in Brazil, Argentina and USA....not countries Nicaragua is a friend with
