I created an ad words campaign for my e-commerce site that sells iPhone unlocks, I got zero sales. I used keywords that were pretty targeted, what went wrong? Is Adwords not good for e-commerce?

I'd need more data than this to confirm what you did wrong. As I don't simply have time to analyze your data I'd suggest testing multiple landing pages and different offers for your target audience. It was either your landing page that didn't convert or it was the wrong target audience. I know you said you targeted buying keywords but maybe you were thinking college kids would buy this unlock, and the real audience is cheating business men who need phones to prevent their wives from knowing.

    CTR 0.60%

Change your Ad design. Target specific words and specific pages where to show ads.

And maybe your problem was your website design! If it looks like it was made in 1997. and you want to sell New iPhone 6s, you can be sure that you won't sell anything.

By the metrics posted your sales copy was a poor converting one. For one with targeted keywords you should be getting an average of 1.3%++ clicks as your ad position was averaging around 2.1++. I suggest that you at least try scraping ad copy from your competition and testing it on your campaigns. You will need to reword it, and quite upfront you might get banned for stealing campaign metrics from your competition. For this you simply just need to make a new account and keep advertising. Adwords also is very much the best converting traffic source on the internet, so it wouldn't be that their platform sent you un-targeted traffic right?

You should have more than one landing page if you're just starting to run this... you gotta split test everything to find what works.

I highly doubt your landing page isn't a problem. It's either the design or your sales writing.

$80 and no results is nothing. Try spenting few hundred dollars on data and come here and report back to us. What can be wrong? Well, lets see....

    1) Your keywords suck.
    2) Your landing page sucks.
    3) Your ad copy sucks.
    4) Something is wrong with your funnel.

Once you spent more money testing all these variables, you will be able to figure out how to optimize it more. Good luck.

One thing for sure, your prices are hella high.

If people can find cheaper unlocking service on ebay and other sites they will choose other sites.

Your account is set up terribly to begin with. Here are a couple things to do which will help your CTR, as your LP looks great, dont touch it.

1.) Never set up a campaign as Search & Display. Separate them out, make one search and one display. In this case you only need a Search Campaign.
2.) Set up your keywords as a Broad Match Modifer Campaign and and Exact campaign. Make sure you put your exact keywords as negatives in your BMM campaign, so you dont compete against you self and jack up your own CPCs.
3.) In your Campaigns set up Single Keyword Ad Groups (SKAGS). This will allow you to create Ad copy that is exactly related to your Keyword. This will help with Quality Score and ultimately lead to a lower CPC. I cant stress this enough, MAKE SURE YOU SPECIFIC AD COPY FOR EACH KEYWORD. Dont be lazy and use generic ad copy.
4.) Never use Auto Bidding. Google is trying to make the most money they can and letting them control your bids is like having a Casino telling you how much you should bet. Set your bids to Manual and test your Max CPC. Remember the higher the Quality Score, the lower the CPC.
5.) Check your Search Query Reports regularly. This will show your what queries people are searching and clicking, that are triggering your ads.
6.) Make sure you are adding Negatives to your account often (found in SQR), to help control your costs. You have a few broad match "how to" terms, that can lead to just a bleeding of your budget.

Overall these are easy fixes for you to make. It is really that your account is too generic, broad, and unorganized. Take a day or two reorganizing, following Adwords Best practices, and you should see a drastic improvement.

    Hope this helps..

Yeah probably all the traffic is coming from display network and that traffic is useless imo. Seperate it and see how much is coming from search. Also you prices may be too high. Another bad news adwords will probably ban your account in few weeks if not days.
