Hello,

As the title says, I just started a wordpress blog. I wrote a few articles, however I don't have any plugins or anything. What are some things I need to add to my blog? What are the beginning steps?

Thanks for the help!

Yoast or All in One SEO - for SEO
SNAP Plugin - to distribute your content
The rest is depend on the site use

Mayby some security-plug like wordfence. Some cache-plugin with site and cloudflare to cdn/cache too. And off course some backup-plugin. Because most expenses back-up is gonna be that, what u never took.
Good like with new site.

Thanks for the tips guys, I went ahead and downloaded Yoast SEO. Played around with the settings a bit.

It all depends on what you're going to do with your blog.
If you're going to do some SEO stuff with it, make sure your website is optimized for SEO. (Onpage SEO)
Then register for google webmaster & google analytic.
If you're going to use it for e-commerce, learn how to do such thing in your website. (What plugin to use, what payment method you're going to use, etc2)
In the end what you need to do correlate with what you want to do.

yoast seo.
a free theme thats mobile optimize (responsive, nothing to do with plugins)
pretty link to keep everything nice and tidy.
google analytics.
fastest cache , just turn everything on and dont forget to clear the cache once you make some template / color changes

this should keep you running

I'm gonna use it for SEO, I'm not selling anything. Thanks for the tips!

Thanks for the tips. I'm also making a blog and I'm newbie. This information is good for me.

Don't bloat your site. Install plugins as you need them down the road.

Search plugin according to your requirements,
Post good quality article on you niche,
Design a good quality user interface.

yoast seo willl help you increase the readability and many other important things. This plugin is free, easy to use and fully functional.

You can add plugins for faster website load, chat plugging would be interesting depending on the type of content you post.

It actually depends on what your needs are for the blog. Some plugins that always come in handy are:
  • Yoast SEO
  • W3 Total Cache
