Just Started a New Blog- Would Like Some Advice please

Hey all

I am pretty much super new to internet marketing, found this website, got my feet wet and now I want to dive in!
So anyway I started a blog a few days ago (I have no funds-hope to soon). It is to do with learning languages, I didn't do any keyword research, just picked a title that I thought was good and wrote some content for it. I have a general idea of what I need to do, mainly get some backlinks I think, I got none so far lol, and get some affiliate links up. My work style is kind of a bit all over the shop and definitely not ordered. Is there a general order in the way things should be done?
If I were to provide a file to download, would it be best with a content locker or direct them to a ppd site?

You are welcome here, what i feel is that you will have to do some more reading on this forum (am currently doing the same) and you will learn how to improve your site backlinks.Other people with better idea will probably help you on the content lock building part.

If you are building a serious site - like you are offering to teach them a language, you can easily build an email list by offering a freebie (in this case your free download). Content locker is more for - movies, keygens kind of thing.

And yeah, do read the sticky threads in BlackHat SEO and Money Making sections .They are super helpful.

I'll be sure to check them out. It's not so much teaching a language, more just advice and pointers. I was planning on directing people to language programs like pimsleur and rosetta stone and such like and generate money from the affiliation.

Make sure you have good content first. Everything else will fall in line.

If you're trying to build a blog that'll succeed in the long run, avoid using content lockers or PPD. Give the content away for free in exchange for their emails. You'll make less money today, but in the long run you'll build a much larger audience. That means more links, more JV opportunities and ultimately a much more successful business.

Is there anywhere on this forum or another site which gives you a guide of the basics when starting a blog ?
