Just received some fake Paypal e-mails - They look real!

That does no doubt look real, but the word "violated" just didn't ring right to me either. Anyhow, I don't click any links from paypal in my email, I just login directly to be safe.

my friend got heavily scammed last year.over $20k.they hacked his bank account, and now i'm sure this is how they did it, n he couldnt read in between the lines.

not click on link in email , take your ass to work and open a new tab then write paypal.com ;)

But what if they promise me that I won $xx.xxx.xxx and must login within xx minutes? Who can resist that?

I've personally noticed a dramatic increase in the realism of fake PayPal emails. Some of them take me a bit of a read before its obvious. They used to be very obvious.

But it's not tech-savvy people like us that get scammed. They're looking at the massive percentage of tech-illiterate people out there. I often get calls from my Dad about emails and 'updates'... It's hard for those who aren't used to technology to discern. And they wouldn't know how to check the originating email domain etc.

And the scammers are getting better at it, like with any other business.

Some crappy scammer, don't buy that shit, just move on.

Two things I do:
Hit REPLY and see what the address is, but of course sometimes this is forged

Hover over links to see what the path is. If it's not PayPal, it's fake. Still, never click on a link. Like a poster above stated, go to your Paypal account (manually) and check for messages/notifications.
