Just received an e-mail from a local store along with their 500 subscribers.

Hi,

I just received an e-mail from a local mountain bike store about some upcoming deals they are having. The e-mail also included the e-mail addresses of over 500 people who have given their e-mail address to the store. I have an online business, but no experience with affiliate marketing. Would it be worth attempting to e-mail this list with some kind of mountain biking services/products?

I was thinking something like this, diybikerepair.

You can try sending them an email 3 part series. The 3rd being the affiliate sales offer. The 1st and 2nd being the bike tips and providing more value to them.

I don't see why not. 500 is not exactly a huge list but there is definitely some potential to make money here.

Send them bike stuff: amazon products, clickbank products, anything you can find. Let us know how it goes.

Just reply to all and ask an innocent question about an amazing/relevant product you saw on amazon and link to it. Wouldn't hurt to go make a mountain biking blog and have it in your sig line.

Thank you for the advice. Since this is such a small list, can I just send out e-mails through a gmail account or do I need something like aweber? I don't really plan on doing any other e-mail marketing. I just saw this opportunity and figured it would be worth a shot to make a little money for only a couple hours of work. Not a bad idea about the blog, but that's a little more effort than I wanted to put into this.

But credits on one of the ESP's. You shouldn't have any issues with that small number.

As for what I would do with it, if you doe SEO stuff, consider contacting the bike shop and ask them if they need your service. Either way, tell them what they did wrong or else your email will also be out there.

I agree with Affiliate links though.
