Just read this story..

Days ago, I've found this Italian site: that is a very simple site without particolar informations..
BUT, a quick check with the SeoQuake toolbar revealed that this site has a PR6 and a faboulos # of 3500 link from G00gle, and 12.000 from Yah00!
The web agency is this one: , that has a PR8 and 110.000 links from Yah00!
WOW!
BUT.. this web agency is playing with the fire.... check the source code of its website, and see the old trick they are using....
So, this story tells me:
1) (probably) a lot of inbound links, a greater PR
2) the quality of backlinks it's not so important..
3) G00gle sometimes doesn't see that those sites are using tricks to gain links and PR.
4) Building a website with a lot of pages, just to gains backlinks, could be a great idea..
What's your opinion?

I was checking and I don't they can get banned because they don't really get any advantage from it. At the most, they can take the authority from them, because I'm pretty sure that they are doing that, because they are actually selling those links.
It's not like in the past when we used to put the keywords with the same color of the background, now it's so different.

At the very least they should change their name to blackconsultants.it

@Descartes: they're using hidden links (1px transparent gif) and Google isnt doing anything, i mean, they still have a high PR...

I don't quite get it. I looked at their source code and I see all those different links and see that they just have outgoing links to a bunch of different websites masked and all, but how does that help? Why not just show them in plain text and how is that helping their PR?
