Just made a website. Where do I start?

Hello everyone in BHW!

I am relatively new to this forum. I need some help with regards to SEO.

Just a bit of background on my business. Nineteen95 is a mobile coffee catering company based in Singapore that operates from a customized mobile cart. We intend to cater to events, weddings, parties, exhibitions, roadshows, and etc.

I just build a website using the WordPress app on the Plesk control panel and I have no clue what to do next. I was reading around this forum and I still couldn't fully understand what to do. My apologies for being a tech noob.

Things that I have done so far:
1. Added a property to Google Search Console
2. Submitted a sitemap to Google Search Console generated by Google XML Sitemap Wordpress plugin.

Where do I go from here? I realized that when I search my website on Google by searching "Nineteen95 SG". The title and description is not what I want it to be. How do I go about changing this?

Look for youtube, there are a lot of good very simple step by step instructions.
 
1. W3C - Ensure site is W3C Compliant.
2. 404 Pages - Ensure you've 404 pages.
3. Legal Pages- Have a privacy policy, TOS and disclaimer(s).
4. Social Media Profiles
5. Configure with Google Analytics.
6. Check robots.txt file
7. Launch Press Release or announce on Social Media
8. Check Load time
9. Add Google Business listing
10. Ask for suggestions from friends and other members :)

Hello! Thanks so much for the list.

I wanted to share my page on my business' social media but however, the share dialog shows me this:

Give me your skype ID, will fix it up for you :)
 
if this is a wordpress website, add yoast seo plugin and then you can change both what you see on google search engine and on social sharing pages.

Actually, I have played around with the Yoast plugin and have managed to fix it.

However, it still shows that when I search for my website on Google. I will PM you
 
it takes time before google will update.

You want to start linkbuilding and social submitting to start getting traffic to the website.
 
For me the I do the following:

  • Work out content. Always need a good base of content to start with and try to build it up over the coming weeks and months. Use content to target long tail keyword as this can most of the time give you traffic a lot faster than big keywords
  • With yoast make sure to go to "Features tab" and click on Advanced settings pages as this will give you things like the bulk editor and a few other great tools.
  • After that the fun part starts with link building and growing the site out.
If I was you I would also look at getting some tools like a keyword tracker and set up goals in side google analytics. As this will help you know where your new leads and customers come through. Here is a link about how to set it up.

Register on Google and list yourself as a local business, this way you can be posted on local searches, which is very important for a local, physical company
 
The website I made is a one page site using Wordpress. Can't really get much content out as of now as we haven't started. Currently putting out the necessary information about our services. I was thinking about making a Blog to create backlinks and etc. Gotta start scratching my brains and writing up on content.

I've linked my website to Google Analytics, Google Adwords, Google Search Console, Google Local Business.
 
Perform both on page and link building for your website. Include main keywords into your content and make sure your content must be fresh and Useful enough for the end user.

Get the SEO audit report to get the idea, and start from there on.
 
Hey OP, whatever you done was good while building your new site. Apart from that the major thing to achieve a good position is to get big number of traffic that point to your site. So use some social signals and build links to rank soon.
 
I have started a blog page on my website. I will be uploading many quality posts and sharing them on Facebook and social media. Is that a good way to get traffic?

plus use w3cache plugin or any cache plugin to get remaining score in gtmetrix.

Remember internet availability is limited so you need to consider optimizing your website. and having scripts in will slow down website rendering in mobile devices as the script is being loaded instead of website content.

You can get top ten rankings in the SERPs in many industries just by following some very basic (on the whole, onsite) SEO tips.

It’s worth pointing out that you *typically* have three chances to tell Google what a page is about, and how important the page is.

  1. On Page – The actual text content of the page
  2. On-Site – In internal links to the target page
  3. Off-Site – In links to the target page from other websites
OK – You’ve got your site….. it’s got the usual stuff – home page, contact page, about us, map, products – but you have a blog! A blog lets you easily add pages. That’s all you really need, although you can do this without a blog of course, but then you need to know a bit about website design.
 
The other big thing to focus on.. is creating a FUNNEL - so that any leads you get to your site - you collect their information..

Name, phone, email, etc.

If you don't get a lead, a visitor means nothing..

Make sure to add that contact form as a floating button on your WordPress site even.
