Just made 1st page. Help me improve my bounce rate.

So I built a site monetized with adsense and after two months of seo I'm on the 1st page (floating between #7-11).

The bump in traffic has already translated into more $$$. From an average of $1-$3 to yesterday being the sites best preforming day at $14.35. Along with a consistently STELLAR ctr %!

My site is kinda thin with only 6 pages of content. So I already decided to continue to ad content. But my REAL concern is the bounce rate.

I would like to decrease the bounce rate as it is currently in the 70's%. Alot of the foremost well respected seo blogs that I read mention that google calculates your sites bounce rate into its algorithm.

So I want to just enhance the user experience make sure my visitors stay a little longer so I can continue to stay on the 1st page.

Any ideas?????

Consider adding video that they will watch. This will keep them on your website longer and thus decrease the bounce rate. Try adding interesting content that they can really get into. Also, try making your meta description as accurate as possible.

Are you thinking about a refresh or automatic redirection after x seconds type of thing to get them to automatically view 2 pages.

I think most sites have bounce rates over 50%. I don't think 70% is that bad, especially considering it's only 6 pages of content.

Bounce rate is important for rankings too
