Just how many people are doing it?

Ok, since I've come into this forum, a question has been constantly haunting my mind.

Just how many people in the world are making a full living out of IM, and how many of them became millionaires in the process, I'm aware of at least 4 or 5 people on this forum that are making multiple millions per year, but even the average income, $2000-$3000 per month how many people on the world are really doing it?

It seems to me that from an outsider point of view, the greater percentage of people don't believe IM to be a plausible way to make a living, 95% of people believe this to be a shady business full of scams and secret schemes, but the truth is, since I'm apart of it, no more than 2 weeks ago, I've already made a considerable amount of money, mostly through freelancing, but still it is internet money nonetheless.

My figures is that in the whole world, excluding companies and corporations there should be between 100 and 200 people that are multi millionaires through IM alone (which started from the bottom of IM and built their way up) and no more than some 6000 people making a full living out of IM. (making more than $2000 a month)

Are my figures somewhat right, or am I completely mistaken?

Please comment, this should be a question that has occurred in most of your minds.

Why should this question be something of concern? Why should I care about what other people think, or the lifestyles other people are living?

Just go out there and make as much as you can, people might not acknowledge your "job" but they will acknowledge the cash in your wallet.
 
This article says there are 452,000 people making a living from blogging alone. I think your numbers are off a bit. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124026415808636575.html

I would say you numbers are WAY off. 6000 people in the world making a living off IM? I would say its is at least 60,000 maybe more. BHW is just a very small chunk of the IM business.
 
Its way more than 6,000. I do it and am still kind of half assed about it (only put in like 25 hours a week) so I know there has to be a lot more people out there than 6,000.

I wouldn't get out of bed for 2K a month and I make my living on the internet.

I would venture a guess that the majority of people that are making a living on the internet wouldn't bother to get out of bed for 2K either.
 
I put in no more than 5 hours a week because I really half ass it (tired of working after a day of school and homework) and I'm on pace for ~$500-$1000.
 
Coaching has to be approved. I don't remember what happens if you try without approval.
 
Honestly, I don't even see how the articles get their numbers but truthfully.. a lot of people are making a living online, but compared to the general population.. most people don't know what making money online even is.

I ask my family/friends and they say "what's that" or "yeah that stuff is a scam".

The average American will live an average life.. they will go to college, get a job working 9-5 and make just enough to get by and most people will be and are in debt currently.

That's exactly my perspective, maybe those numbers are referring to people who CLAIM to make money online, even if its only $10 per month. (and you also have to consider the people that just lie when making this kind of surveys)

I may have my numbers very wrong, but they aren't as high as that, that's for sure, it's like what you've said, if you ask ANYONE about this market, pretty much everyone will say this is a scheme or a scam!
 
I think your numbers are way off too. There are so many different ways to make your living totally online. I started in 1996 as a high-tech recruiter, did all of my work online. Have since moved on through many different things. Even when I was a recruiter, over 50% of my time was spent on IM, the rest of the time was sorting through resumes and doing interviews. I'd still consider something like that as making money through IM.

well i'd like to correct the facts a bit i dont think in India million people are making money online internet has entered into the lives on Indians but most of them Still dont realise tht money ca be earned off the internet.

even if u make like 1000$ every month and convert it to India Rs it would be Rs5,400,00 which with this you can earn above decent life in India.

I am from India and there are many reasons why people in india might not be able to get such income from online the first is CPA companies they aint gona call a affiliate who lives in India neither will the affiliate call the company its the basic problem when u dont have offers to promote how can you earn?
