I'm a guy who can get high PR links quick and easy, and I'm sure I'm not the only one on this forum. However, I'm always hearing people recommend using ezine articles to promote a website.

To my mind, creating an article is a lot of work to get one link. I know it could send traffic to my money site but let's be honest, I'm hardly banking on that.

Does anyone know if there is something "magical" about ezine articles - for example, a proven google authority effect - that makes people recommend it so much?

Not sure if its "magical", but Im sure it helps. Just buy some articles for $2 and spend 15-30mins editing to your liking...not too much work.

idk abt pagerank but if ur good, u can rank for decent keywords pretty easily...
my article "4 simples ways to KEYWORD" for #1 after 10min of being live...(few days old now)

If your article title and body are SEO'd, then you have a pretty good shot at making the top 10 in G00gle for long tail keywords. I notice that when I'm doing keyword research for products that I want to promote, a lot of the time, someone's ezinearticles.com article will be ranking well.

If there's already a well-ranked ezinearticles page for your keyword, you will likely get a sublisting for it (like in the screen shot below, although this particular example shows a double listing for about.com). I've also noticed that the rankings one gets from ezinearticles are pretty solid, as in they tend to stay ranked over time, whereas social bookmarks will drop off the front page after awhile. In the picture below, the ezinearticles page is ranked #4 and was published in 2006 (screen shot was taken today).

I used it alot to promote my acai berry site, and it gives you pretty good amount of target traffic.
Give it a shot, you will only lose an hour or 2 if you dont succes..

Good luck with it mate.

I am actually an "expert author" on ezine articles having submitted several - I've not yet personally experienced the traffic effect or the ranking effect but the evidence that ezine can be very helpful is plain to see, thanks to 195471. I will continue working on ezine.

I made 3 ezine articles today, 500 words a piece. Very good quality. Each one took only ten minutes - no exaggeration. I did this by using Dragon Naturally Speaking.

Based on what I've heard here, I'll be producing several ezines for each of my niches.

Thanks

It's difficult to conclusively prove anything as far as google rankings are concerned... All we can try and do is analyze results/our actions/competitors others actions, or kinda reverse engineer...

But ezine does have an authority of some kind, they have so many pages ranked well... And in my opinion, that's the key with them...they have the unverifiable google trust rank/authority status...

EzineArticles is a good source of traffic. I get 300+ visitors a day from EZA. To get good rankings in G00GLE your article must be keyword optimized. But the most important factor is getting a few backlinks to your article. This can be done by WEB 2.0 properties, other article sites, forums and blog comments. Getting good backlinks will guarantee that you get good rankings and traffic. Good luck.
