Well I finally hit first page for an exact match of 27k-28k.

Before I hit page 1 I was getting around 80 uniques a day. I hit first page yesterday, had about 70, now today about 60. My analytics hill is going down, and I am pretty bummed out about it.

Now I know, I know, I shouldn't be expecting a miracle after hitting first page. I was just hoping for maybe 10 more visitors. Hell maybe it will happen.

Anyways, I thought I would make a thread after hitting the first page. Its been about a month since the sites been up. Maybe 2 or even 3. Time just flies by so fast with these sites.

Haven't made over a dollar yet, so hopefully eventually Ill hit spot #1. Though I must say my site is monetized quite horribly.

Often times, being on the first page is not enough. Where are you on the first page?

You need to be above the fold...

Clear cache.. Check from an US ip.. Are you still on the first page?

Keep at it you are on the right track add more new content and keep working at it - all takes time

Hate to break it to you, but you are clearly doing something wrong. You were already getting 80 uniques a day and still haven't made any money? Something is not right.

In my opinion top of the second page can be better than bottom of the first page.

27k = ~900/day, but that's not a constant. Most keywords tend to be higher/lower on weekends or weekdays and some like "american idol", "family guy" have huge spikes on single days of the week. You could've just been having a couple low search volume days.

And it's definitely a thing that #11 gets more clicks than #10, so keep up the good work and get to #9 to start seeing that juicy traffic.

You can also try to update your title tag and meta description to boost your CTR.

First page doesn't mean nothing. Being first page at the bottom is worse than first on page 2.

you need to be in at least top 5 in order to get some traffic. Forget page 1 bullshit, it's way easier to improve from page 10 to page 1 rather than from bottom of page 1 to top 3 position

just wanted to say congrats, and keep it up! you will eventually be making some money if you do it right, and keep adding new content to the site ! :)

its not going to increase much unless your able to get over the above flap. people rarely scroll down. #4 expect alot more traffic.

#1 spot is the sweetest.
#2 sport is sweet.
#3 is just "okay".

Anything below that, is not going to bring you heaps of traffic.

what were you expecting? Go for first position and you'll get 800-1000 / day

People just don't like to the bottom.

So it goes like this

1st position: 50%
2nd position: 25%
3rd position: 12.5%
and so forth

The real money is in the first three results

So get your scrapebox ready for action

Ah alright, I managed to hit position 6 now, so I will see how well it does for me this coming week. Hopefully I can nail top 3 positions soon.

Thank you everybody for the feedback! Also the great research and opinions.

It varies a lot for different keywords. If they are searching for something that can easily be answered in the top few results then you are not going to get a lot ranking 9th- 10th. If it is a buying keyword where they are likely researching a purchasing decision, and many of the sites above you are simply one option, then you will get more. There are lots of factors that influence how deep into the results people search...also is your page title enticing? Would people want to click it?
