Well I joined up in anticipation to learn a bit about SEO. I must say I have come quite far! Ive studied almost every day on ranking my pages up.

Well I have finally hit #1 for a 27,000 Exact match keyword. :) Passing up Wikipedia and Apple was a fantastic feeling.

Now I'm not making much on adsense but that is because I didn't do my CPC research when I first made this site.

This was basically my test site, the first site I made to make any type of adsense money.

I created the site about 5 months ago, and started working on the seo about 3 months ago (maybe less).

For those of you who think I may be googling it myself, I am not. I use a rank checking tool and have had others check the keyword as well. I am 100% I am #1.

Thank you for all your help everybody! This was a great learning experience for me.

Now create a new site and do more seo
 
Maybe this 27,000 Exact match keyword with low CPC is a low competition keyword that is easy to rank. You may like to try out your tactics with medium or high competitive keywords to see how effective they are. Good luck :) Keep going
 
Congratulations! Don't consider your site a test/waste because of the bad CPC. You can try throwing some high CPC keywords related to your niche into your content. Careful though, that might get you into trouble. The safer thing would be to monetize with an affiliate program like Amazon (sell ipods, accessories) or Clickbank (iphone unlocking guides).
 
If I hit #1 for my 27k KW, I'd be making $300/day.. Damn, I'm jealous of you ;-)
 
congrats dude :) I just hit #1 spot for a 2900 local keyword with an EMD I created a month ago...its also targets a bunch of other keywords... It made me 4 dollars today with adsense... not much, but it is a start. I am getting about 90 daily uniques. This was my test run as well :) I am gonna put a bunch of more articles on it now covering more subjects and will also add 2 more monetization methods :) I found a nice CPA offer for my niche so I am certain I can get the site to an average of $10+ per day pretty easily.

To get to number one I automatically created about a hundred of wikis with low quality spun content which are all no follow and scrapeboxed them, manually commented on very related guestbooks and blogs which were do follow and no follow and also created a bunch of related forum profile links which I blasted with scrapebox.

Congratulations! Rather than simply writing this off as a learning experience, I would still try to monetize that traffic a bit better if you can. Try adding additional content to your site that targets higher CPC keywords and funnel the traffic to those pages. Or as someone else suggested you could try Amazon or Clickbank products, though those may or may not work well depending on the keyword (and guessing from the low CPC I'm thinking funnelling them to a higher CPC article and hoping you get a decent clickthrough there might have better results).

Honestly I haven't done enough with Adsense to know how well that works, but if you're already ranked that high for a 27k exact kw then you should be getting a fair amount of traffic and I would definitely want to tap into that as much as I can if I was you.

Hey! Very useful post! This is exactly what I am doing with my 2900 exact match domain now because the average cpc I receive is only 30 cents and there are many related higher paying keywords.
