Just Got Ripped Off For Work Completed

Create a thiscardealersucks.com website and get it ranking above them (black hat baby) for their name and keywords. In an area as large as NY, they would and more importantly their customers would notice very fast.

The car dealer will be pissed about the negative rep and then you have leverage. Pay in full or the website remains. Register and host the domain off shore and it would be very hard for them to get the site removed. They say it does not matter, remind them about the negative rep their customers are seeing. They sue, you counter sue and call the papers and spread the word about how they are ripping you off.

I did this to a contractor when I lived in VA Beach and got $12000 back from being ripped off on a project I hired them for. They tried to call my bluff and threaten me with lawsuits, but in the end gave in and paid me back my cash.

Post 100 free boat ads across the country with their main phone number. Should bring a call every 3 seconds for a week or so... jam up the voicemail system. BTW I would never do anything like this... it would be childish. it's just an idea.

LMAO :D

That's awesome hahaha

We're all blackhatters here...I'm sure you know how to get revenge online one way or another..;)

Bahaha, this reminded me of a news story just posted about a guy that has roughly 600k twitter followers (don't quote me) but there are a lot and he posted a free internship position for his work and used the number of a local police station. From the sounds of it jammed the lines up for hours!

That was the rapper The Game, he says someone hacked his account and posted that. Still pretty funny though.

Yeah that was really funny except it was compton police and that there were like 2 stabbings, one robbery, and a carjacking all while the phones were tied up.

If it was a local car dealership, than you should have presented them with a legal document to sign because legally, they don't owe you a thing if they haven't signed or agreed to a legally binding contract. Remember this the next time you decide to deal with local business. Also be sure to provide proof of a completed job that they requested.

I posted 700 ads on craigs this week for a local car dealership I just picked up as a new client. I have gotten too comfortable and trusting with my clients. I agreed to let them pay me at the end of the week, against my better judgement. Usually I always take payment up front but this looked like a good client and a reputable dealership so I let em slide. I just spent the last 2 hours deleting all the ads (posted with pva's) and now just chalking it up as a loss. Just wanted to share this as a warning to others, ALWAYS GET PAID UP FRONT.

I've had issues trying to get my ads taken down from Craigslist. They take forever to delete an ad.

UTTER BULLSHIT!

This guy has no idea what he is saying.

There is a category of law called "contract law" and I currently study it. A "verbal contract" is just as binding as a contract you sign, as long as there is a "meeting of the minds", meaning both parties understand what is needed to be done on both sides and agree on it.

UTTER BULLSHIT!

Agreed. That jumble of words actually does mean something. More than 95% of my income in the last 5 years has been the result of successfully completed verbal contracts, many of which do not even include a handshake. About half of the customers that have insisted on a written document have made some efforts at cheating me. In the beginning, some succeeded. There's no paper in the world that can protect you from an asshole that is determined to screw you. Real wisdom came to me the day I realized that I cooperated in every screwing I got. The only power you have is in your analysis of the situation, and the decisions you make based on that.

There's no "magic bullet", "one size fits all" formula. If a guy feels wrong, don't do business with him, or name a too-high price and scare him off. Get half up-front. Make certain he doesn't get full value of what you are doing until you get full payment. But consider, all these "protective measures" have a dynamic of "diminishing returns". At some point, it's more hassle than it's worth. If you are going to put a lot of effort into trying to guarantee that a customer that you don't trust will pay you, you could put that same amount of effort into finding a customer that is trustworthy. The world is chock-full of customers, more than anyone could ever take care of. The trick is making the connection with the RIGHT ones, and avoiding wasting time and energy connecting to the wrong ones.

And if you really can't tell the difference between the two, you shouldn't be self-employed anyways. This is the free market, and it's a hostile wilderness. Sheep get shorn, suckers get taken and fools and their money are soon parted.

Most people get screwed because they fail to take full responsibility for the consequences of their own decisions. They blame everyone but themselves for everything that happens, and the end result is that they fail to learn and develop the skills needed to differentiate between who you can trust and who you should not.

I remember VERY clearly the time I asked a customer for a partial payment for a job that was almost complete. He walked away like someone had jammed a large stick right up his ass. I noticed it, but did not see it for what it was. It was a warning. That reaction was a physical manifestation of his deep aversion to paying people money for any reason. I was surprised when he gave me a lot of trouble when it was time to pay, but I shouldn't have been. In retrospect, it was obvious. He simply HATED paying people anything for any reason. (I found out later he did the same thing to everyone that ever did business with him, which was why & how I was hired; no one else would work for him so he had to find someone new, that didn't know him or what he was like.)

Yeah, there's another thing they don't teach you. You should always be aware of the question "Why me?" when doing business with someone. When they can hire anyone else on the planet, why is it YOU? Is it your handsome good looks, your candy-flavored sphincter, your cheap price, the fact that you were the first one to answer the phone, or is it because you are the only one dumb enough to do business with an asshole?

It's important to ask this question, as sometimes a correct answer can either save you from getting screwed or (conversely) it can also help you to make some good money.

Finally, here's a little tidbit for anyone that doesn't know this. Answer the phone. That's money calling. It's not good enough to finish wiping your butt and then calling the person back, because they are working a list online and will already be talking to someone else. Answer the phone, and make certain you don't flush until after you've done your business. No one wants to know they are doing business with someone sitting on the toilet, and you don't want to lose any money because the phone rang while taking a dump.

Chances are good that it's some kind of management screw-up. Maybe a salesman authorized the ads and didn't have the authority to do so. Call and find out.

No sense going off the deep end, though I understand you're pissed.

Who wouldn't be?

WOW! Very detailed and informative post! Take Johnny Quick's advice, he knows what he is talking about. Thank you for taking the time to write all that for the BHW community. This post should be read by everyone before doing any type of offline sales.

It is pretty easy to get your money. Here is how.
I have used this technique before.

First you have to understand what the dealership doesn't want.
They don't want negative publicity so if they ripped you off
it's because they THINK they can get away with it with
no LOSS on their end.

So what you have to do is let them know there is going to me more PAIN
inflicted when they don't pay.

Basically you need to have a thread of publicly embarrassing them
and scarring of all their customers.

EXAMPLE: You select the their biggest days and show up with there with a huge
sign that says "WARNING: DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM [NAME] DEALERSHIP
UNTIL YOU TALK TO ME...THEY STOLE $,$$$ FROM ME AND MY FAMILY

Use White postboard and red letter...

then get a few people 2 to hold the same sign. Before you know
customer are going to be coming up to you to find out what happened.

when a few start circling around you the dealership manager will quickly
notice and realize that he NEEDS to solve this problem quickly
before it grows. At that point he will ask to meet with you or ask you to leave.
if he asks you to leave...tell him in no uncertain terms to go F#@# himself.

When you sit down with him tell him he has 5 minutes to write you a check
for the full amount + $200 for trying to F### with him.

Not only that go to his competition and offer to do their CL ads.

and that if that doesn't happen you will be calling the local media ABC, NBC
and papers to report them as well as submitting a report to ripoffreport.com

believe me at this point he will write you a check, apologize , and get you cup of warm expresso ...
bonus points if you wear black shoes have him shine them for you too...

Exactly, this is what you need to do

and when he pays you - ask him to write a cheque for the full amount + 500$ for what he did
