Just got f*cked

2 golden rules of selling online. Always ship to the billing address only unless you have verified the cardholders moms asshole.....Always keep a tracking number. Don't stress though you live and you learn.

I'd even go one further: Always create an invoice

That is an expensive lesson.

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS have a tracking number. And items over 250 dollars have SIGNATURE confirmation on it.

I hate paypal and ebay.. Sorry to hear.. Are they charging you daily for being negative?

This is why I always tell people never use your main PayPal account.

You just paid $360 for a course in "avoiding ebay scams" don't worry bout it, and just get back to work, and make sure next time you don't ship outside verified address, and always record your tracking into paypal.

sorry to hear about your loss mate...

dont let this one discourage you.. :D

so what is the end of the story did op contacted the courier service and is the person who bought the stuff is form your country, if he is then it is easy to track and sue him, did you put the return address if it is not delivered.

Everyone loves to talk about suing people but honestly it's not worth going to small claims court in another state over a few hundred bucks. Court filing fee at least $50, plus travel to that state could run hundreds plus a day off work, just not worth it unless you wanna try to go after them on principle and dont care about losing money to do it.

Even then without a tracking number there's really no proof it was sent or delivered.

I got screwed by fedex for over 7k and it still wasn't worth going to court over it. Long story short sent two packages for COD, each for $3500. Fedex dropped off packages without collecting a cashiers check, they offered me $200 for the lost merchandise. On thewo second package they took a personal check instead of a cashiers check and the kicker it was one of those starter checks that doesn't even have the persons name or address on it. I'll never use fedex again for anything let alone cod. also the dirtbag customer wrote one bad check and essentially stole hte other package as well. Still not worth pursuing from a financial standpoint.

It will be very difficult to get your money back, as not to say impossible. I had a similiar case last year. Somebody bought Diablo 3 from me on eBay. He paid, I sent the key, he left positive feedback. Ok. 2 days later, an email from paypal. Telling me, the amount of this transaction has been disputed because it has been an unauthorized payment.
Some email and phone calls later, still no result. After about 4 weeks, they told me, the case has been closed. He got back his money. I asked for my money, they said, they do not cover virtual items. So if there is no protection when SELLING virtual items, why did he get back his money when BUYING them?
Answer: He normally would NOT have gotten his money back for a "normal" dispute. It is only because his account has been hacked.

So, if you send out goods without a tracking number, it is quite the same as sending virtual items and you will not be protected.....

Stories like these make me not want to use ebay/paypal man. I just made a sale for $255 two days ago. The item I sold couldnt be sold through USPS so I went to FedEx. This person lives in some westbubblefuck hick town that shipping was $57 (it was a small box item). The guy at the FedEx didnt even want me to pay it lol, he told me to just go back and tell the person I cant ship to them and relist it. I didnt want to go through hastle and just paid the shipping so instead of making $255 I lost $7 on paypal fees and $57 on shipping fees smfh

As far as your story yeah you got screewed, thanks for sharing tho so now I know what to do if someone emails me a different address

The scammer is in egypt and I'm in USA.

If you ship anything worth over 250 dollars, and you don't have tracking, you kind of asked for this to happen. Paypal recommends adding a tracking number for all tangible goods. Did it occur to you that the guy didn't receive it, or that you didn't send it? No offense, but an adult should know better... what's delivery confirmation.... 1.82? The only way you could have shipped without tracking is to throw stamps on it....

did you not put the tracking, on the paypal transaction ? if you can remember any info from the shipment details, name, address anything, call the shipping company they may be able to find the records of it, i have had to do it a few times. its not a 100 percent shot they can but sometime they have some luck...
