So here is the story, about month ago I've sold a laptop on eBay for 360 dollars, the guy messaged me and give me a different address to ship the laptop and I did. Today PayPal reversed the 360 dollars back to the person saying someone was using his credit card and that person did not authorized the purchase. To make things worse I do not have an tracking number so Paypal can't do anything about it. So just a laptop and didn't even get paid for it, my PayPal account is negative 345.

I am sorry to hear that mate, but if you cant proof it, you will lose it.

I did and they said since I don't have tracking number, it's impossible to get my money back.
 
ok so for future to be protected only ship to confirmed address plus package over amount 250 needs signature for paypal and ebay blessing basically. you might or might not be aware but i figure id try to help you think this will cover it
 
it happened with me on my ecommerce site.... they asked for a pickup and paid from a stolen card

thats fook up, thats paypal for you.

got me thinking though login to my paypal with USA vpn win something pay for it let it come then login to my PP with my normal IP and say hey wtf i did not authorize this then go shop and sell what ever i bought hmmmmmmmmmmm.

Hard to digest when you say u do not have tracking proof. Do you remember through which courier you have sent it? its very easy to get tracking details from the company even if you do not have number. Just by providing your pickup address you can get your shippment details from the company. Personally i believe there is something else in this story. Sorry if am wrong.

Now coming to your (-) balance in paypal. U have no other option but to leave the account as it is or clear the due amount. Paypal is not going to listen to your stories. They are simple and straight forward. show the proof and enjoy the benifits.
 
PayPal makes it far to easy to get refunds. Don't they have an one click option to for "I didn't authorize payment" when wanting a refund? The seller shouldn't get screwed, but the buyer should since it's their PayPal account being used "authorized".
 
Will PayPal now take money from my bank account to make up the negative? I really don't want that because I don't have 345 in my bank account and when I tried to remove my bank account I did not allow me to do so.

That's a good question. If I don't have the funds in my PP account they draw from my bank. Maybe PP tried to draw money from your bank but can't because you don't have sufficient funds?
 
2 golden rules of selling online. Always ship to the billing address only unless you have verified the cardholders moms asshole.....Always keep a tracking number. Don't stress though you live and you learn.

Man that's sick bro... I bet that motherf****r got that laptop now sitting in front of it and browsin' through the net. I hope the laptop won't last long and that he will spill a can of coke over it tonight :)

I'm 20 years old, been buying and selling on eBay or 3 years, never had any problem untill now.
 
Right now all I care about is getting my PayPal account back to zero. Anyone know a quick way to make 345 dollars?
 
sorry to hear about your situation and dont mean to be harsh but honestly you broke every rule in the book in terms of how you handled ths transaction. this is why its important to understand rules and fees of anywhere you sell. anytime smeone asks you to send something to a diff address you open yourself up to being scammed. if you send to any other address besides paypal address even if you have tracking showing it was received person will automatically get their money back if they open a claim. also, its basic common sense to get a tracking number when sending anything, especially so with ebay again all they have to do is say they didnt get it and they keep your laptop and get money back. people like to be cheap about 0.70 cents for tracking but it winds up costing you away more if you dont. dont even bother fighting this with paypal you shipped to a diff address and didnt even bother geting tracking i gurantee 100% you wont get your money back no matter how hard you fight. take it as a lesson learned.
