Just got a VPS, super confused...

I bought a VPS with cPanel however when I try to load the address I was given in the welcome email it doesnt load. Do I need to install cPanel myself? All I really need this for is to mass email and host multiple domains.

If it comes with cpanel no you should not have to load it.

Are you trying to access it via IP or using the domain name? If using the domain name have you changed the nameserver/IP info at the registrar?

Did you check with the company first about the emails? A lot of them have fairly strict limits on outgoing emails.

if the address given to you was a domain name
then you may have to wait for it to Propegate (google it)

just use the IP they give you.

if atm you haven't your domain name ready you can use
http://your-vps-ip/~your-cpanel-account

Maybe it isn't up yet. Did they provide you with alternate login? SSH or some RDP if on Windows?
