Just can't figure it out

Hey guys,

Long time lurker, kinda shy normally, but now I am simply pissed that I can't figure out what a competitor is doing.

I have a mom and pop shop that I seo with local terms and legitimately see how to compete against most of my competition however I have one guy that I saw rising up really fast and has now stuck for #1 for most of my terms.

I have ran the site through magestic and ahrefs and I see he has no text on his site, no titles or h1's . He has one yellowpage link and that is it.

So I am a combination of both pissed and jealous. I love and hate what he has done, but I really want to figure it out.

I don't think it would be wise to post all of the details here, but if you are a super sleuthe and think you can help me get some sleep and not lose all my hair, pm me and I'll share the details.

I had one guy tell me he thought this guy might be using Google calendars spreadsheets and other non indexed properties to build these invisible links.

Anyway guys, if no one answers, thanks anyway for letting me vent.

Building PBNs and blocking major seo crawlers is old news...

OK, but at the end of the link Chain, wouldn't there at least be the last link pointing to the money site that would have to be visible?

No it wouldn't. That's the whole point of it.
Crawlers get to tier 1 and no further. Well if all of them are blocked on all tier one properties.

I guess I need me one of these crazy pbns then.

He is probably using PBN links and blocking them from link crawlers. Try running his site through a less known link checker tool - Sometimes, PBN owners only block the major tools.
