Just call ebay to increase selling limits?

Has anybody just called ebay to get selling limits increased? I have a 5k a month limit right now. I use my real info on this account. for the ones who have called, what kinda questions do they ask? Thanks

From what I've read on Ebay, it seems like all they want to know if your plans for selling?

They will call you eventually, you have to go through their risk assessment. If you want your limit increased, your sales have to be consistent for at least 3 months (6 preferred), and you pretty much can't sell anything branded, and nothing electronic, don't even try to sell stuff like purses or DVD's. They threw a fit with one of my accounts because I wasn't authorized to sell third party parts for super nintendo.

I have called to try and remove the limit when I used to dropship electronics. They most likely won't do it unless you upgrade to a business account or something first.

I have a limit of 41k a month. They told me I had to hit the limit for 3 months before I could get a higher limit. Ugh 650 items a month to sell isnt that much >.<!

I called them and they asked me what I planned on selling... I told them the same items just in larger quantities.. Then they told me that they would check my account a while from then and if everything is good my limits would be heightened.

I sell the usual chinese elects (phones, tablets, mp4s blah blah)

You'll need to have your invoices, id and SSN(if you're in US) ready.
You need to tell them what you're looking to sell.

There are instances when ebay would review your case and ban you completely.

Yep, if you get an eBay employee that is completely thorough, they can and will find any reason to not grant you further access to eBay. I was selling collectiable merchandise I purchased through an estate sale. Guy owned a big collectiable store before he did and just moved everything he owned into his garage. I didn't have the rights to resell a Spalding Basketball signed by Scottie Pippen with full authentication and was banned when I asked to increase my selling limit on eBay earlier this year, which was soon after eBay started analyzing sellers more. With him being inducted into the HOF in 2010, I figured it would be a good time to sell it. eBay banned the entire account with 4800 feedback because I didn't have the authorization to resell anything with the Spalding brand name on it, not because it was a signed basketball. I just couldn't sell the actual basketball. I went back and got authorization through Spalding and faxed the info to eBay but they didn't care. What was done was done. All because one 22 year old making $10 an hour decided it was a good idea to shut down the account.
