Just bought an expired domain

Like the title says, today i bought an expired domain with the following stats:



Referring pages 57,951
Total Backlinks 60,668
Referring IPs 185
Referring subnets 160
Referring domains: 490


Backlinks types:

The domain is a tld from my country, and im thinking about using it to post articles and link to other sites i own to give them linkjuice, what do you think?

That sounds pretty awesome man! But it's not all about the # of links and unique c-class ips. When analyzing the backlink profile, what type of backlinks are they? Forum profiles, comment links and links on pages with 100+ outbound links with little or no content are spammy, near worthless and unstable even though they all contribute to the total link count.

Go to open site explorer or Ahrefs (sign up if you haven't already) and take a look at the top few links (both services order from highest quality link at the top). What is the pagerank of those pages? Are they from high quality websites with few outbound links on the page? That's where the real power is.

What country are you in? Some countries have a treasure trove of expired domains sitting around because they have such strict registration policies. Some people say that you need to use .com/.net/.org sites to backlink your sites, but in my opinion any domain that has high quality backlinks and trust in google's eyes is worth using.

You should also check the backlinks that are pointing to your site. Because there are too many backlinks there are a good chance that the previous owner was involved in some kinds of backlink spam and for all you know the website might have been penalized by Google.

Check out some facts carefully for this kind of stuff would be wise, i know this because i used to experience the same thing.

yeah im using ahrefs...all the links are natural, it used to be a government website but they let it expire lol.. i found some more with 11k and 15k backlinks, mostly websites the government in my country used for projects but they are now abandoned, good thing is anyone can register the domains now, it used to be very strict. (sry i won't reveal the country) wanna see if im able to get some more before someone comes and snatches them all... just saying people look around your country tld database, and see on website directories if you can find some jewels ... im opening like 20 sites at once.. looking to see if they are expired, so far bought one and im going to get 2 more.

Why don't you register all the ones you want/need, then create an ebook on how to find them and cash in on it?
