What is the reason to get a strong laptop? I think investing in a great desktop and a lightweight lap should be the way.

Thats a great config, but I hate the heat these high end processors generate!

    is that 2k USD?

I'm looking at upgrading my imac which already has 16gb ram, but looking to upgrade to a MAC pro and going for the 64gb Ram with 2 27" inch screens, going to set me back $14k but would be worth it!

Just got to get some extra blackhat work done!

Who the heck cares about makin' a laptop look 'beautiful' when you can run your shit on it like a champ.

When you say it is amazing would you care to explain why it is?

I am looking for a good laptop as well and looks like ASUS G74sx is within my budget so i would consider giving it a go. Well, of course i read many reviews online, however i want to hear directly from someone who already bought this.

I agree, I have the same strategy. When it comes time to crunch graphics a desktop is still the way to go since it is very upgradeable and the bus is usually faster than a comparably price laptop. Many people invest heavily in a laptop because that is their sole computer and it has to do everything. I run multiple computers that host separate functions including my IM campaigns. Also, I don't trust the shits and want backup machines whenever possible.

Asus all the way! They are solid computers, I own the Asus g50vt-x5. I've had it for 2 years and it handles all the programs I use like a champ. It's getting do be that time to upgrade and you got the version that I want. Have fun!
