Thank you. I was a resident, I had permanent resident status but I was not a Citizen so a few more rights now that I am a Citizen

Damn, congrats mate! Travelling and other residence place based stuff is a nightmare in some countries.Well it finally bloody happened. I'm officially a yank now. I can finally go on holiday and do some much needed traveling. Literally have not been on a vacation outside of the country for over a decade. The last flight I was on was the one coming here 12 years ago. I hate flying so no loss there. It didn't really take that long though to be fair. I was just a lazy git and didn't apply until late 2019. As a permanent resident before that I didn't technically have to file to become a citizen as I could have lived and worked here indefinitely on that visa but travelling in and out of the country could have still posed a hassle if I came across the wrong kind of person.
Now that my wife and I both have a passport from the same country we feel much more comfortable travelling. Before we were too afraid of some border agent just having a bad day and refusing one of us entry to our partners country that we never bothered to travel. Feels like a huge weight has been lifted.
Now all I need is to head over to Costco and get a safe so I can put my two passports and money clip in there and feel like a spy lol!

In the UK they pretty much roll out the red carpet for anyone who opens a company and invests, I think the threshold is, £200k or more. Seems like the fastest and best way of getting British Citizenship.

From what I remember it's $1,000,000 USD and the company in question has to employ 10 people. Some of the less appealing states like Alabama have lower thresholds I think.

after my 21 years in USA i still don't have even a green card.. i am happily married though, celebrated 10 years recently, been with my wife for 16 years now.. really considering changing my status soon.. it won't really change anything for me, so ... who knows..
