Just an advice on Drupal

I've built a blog on Drupal without too much knowing about the platform. The site gets around 10,000 visits per month. It works super fast. However, it was such a pain in the a** to learn and optimise it for Google. My advice is to stay away from this platform if you are not an experienced programmer. The 3rd party modules suck big time!!

Drupal does have a learning curve thats pretty steep, but it also is stable and secure. A lot of companies and governments use Drupal, whitehouse.gov as just one example. Here in Nashville knowing Drupal is a big plus to getting hired! As far as SEO goes, there are a lot of easy ways to improve it, although its not quite as easy as WordPress is.

I have mastered Drupal after awhile. As you said it takes time to learn. However, SEO wise it is really not well setup. Especially, 3rd party tools are often in alpha or beta stage and sometimes cracks the whole system.

learning it hard so i dropped idea of using it in past so i am happy with other platforms

its not as easy platform and wordpress but at least its more unique

Drupal sucks...I am transitioning a big site from Drupal right now and I can't wait to get out. Drupal makes too many assumptions about what you want to do with a page. It takes too much resources per visitor. You have to write modules to include javascript and it uses pseudo-code that makes it a nightmare to transfer to another system like wordpress. If you are going to teach a team pseudocode to put pages on the site, why not just teach them html?

Honestly , if you are going to be using Drupal , you better know your PHP (OOP mostly) well enough ..I had worked with drupal for a while and even after knowing it well enough , i decided to move all my project to Yii , which is awesome and is a framework that rocks ...If you are just getting into IM and want to fast track , better go with wordpress .
