I accidently deleted one of my files which stored my password for many accounts.

Normally, you'd think that it's permanent, or that recovering will be ineffective as probably the file would be corrupted.

It turns out that when you delete them, they are just hidden, and only if you add something new on the hard drive it could rewrite the old data.

If it'd happen to delete something important, simply use this tool called recuva, the portable edition.

Be careful though. The more you add something on that partition, the less likely you're going to recover it.

Hope it helped somebody.

Yea, if it's not overwritten, it can be recovered with a high accuracy, even quite big files.
Right in the moment when you notice that you deleted something by mistake, stop what you're doing, stop every program to prevent writing on the same place, where the deleted file was stored and start the data recovery.

I used GetDataBack for the same purpose with success in the past.

I once accidentally deleted a txt file with 40 tumblrs waiting to be monetized.
Nothing helped to get it back, not even recuva.

Was this the first time you came to know about this or was this the first time you did this?
