[Journey] Using Steemit to Earn A Decent Income

Hey guys! Some of you may have heard of Steemit before. It is a decentralized social networking site that pays for your upvotes (likes), resteems (shares), and comments through Steem Dollars and/or Steem, both cryptocurrencies. P.S. I saw it from a post by @sirwinchester somewhere here.

If you're wondering if they're legit, I can assure you, they are. :)

Anyway. so this journey is a journey to reach at least 10 SBD (Steem Dollars) per post. I know for some people, this is very achievable but for someone like me with a small budget, I can't invest much to increase my Steem Power (the value of your upvotes).

I've been in Steemit for a week now (my username is @paolospeaks) and have earned little earnings. So I decided to create an experiment.

Experiment #1:
There is a service called Randowhale. Randowhale upvotes your post with 2%-5% of its voting power for 1 SBD. So my total investment for this is 9 SBD. Here's what I did:
1. Use Randowhale's upvote to my main post (1 SBD investment)
2. Commented 8 times on my post and upvoted it with Randowhale's service too (8 upvotes = 8 SBD investment)

So here's how it went:
Earnings:
Post: 2.18 SBD
Comment #1: 2.17 SBD
Comment #2: 2.45 SBD
Comment #3: 2.18 SBD
Comment #4: 2.17 SBD
Comment #5: 1.30 SBD
Comment #6: 1.30 SBD
Comment #7: 1.09 SBD
Comment #8: 1.09 SBD

Total Earnings: 15.93 SBD (this is around 14 USD)

Here are the screenshots of the earnings. :)

Though I won't get the full amount right away. 75% will go to me while the remaining 25% will go the curators (those who upvoted).

Out of 15.93 SBD, I will only get 11.9475 SBD. Half of which will go to my Steem Power (which can be withdrawn in 3 months time) and half will be in my Steem Dollar Wallet on Steemit (which I will use to reinvest.)

Therefore, I will only get 5.97375 liquid SBD for a 9 SBD investment.

Verdict for Experiment #1:
***Profitable for a long-term since some goes to Steem Power.
***Not profitable for those short on cash like me.

I will be thinking of more ways to earn on Steemit and will share it with you guys along the way so you can do it. :)

Dude, thanks for detail explanation. I was try something similar but daily income seems to be possible only if some whales upvote your posts, or you can try to make 50-100 accounts and all upvote your post so it go to trending page and be more visible to others. Also try to get SP from minnowbooster, they give SP on lease, eg. for 1 STD = 65 SP. But I still didn't understand all about that.

One of 'big players' there told me that many people who get hundreds $$ per post have bots and it's ok.

Yes I agree. I actually joined Minnow Support however, they only give around $0.20-$0.60 per upvote. But it's free. :)

I also considered it, however to earn 1 SBD to upvote my posts, I will need thousands of SP. I will think of ways to use it properly and update this thread. :)

Too bad I can't program bots. :( Lol!

Updating thread would be nice.

You don't need to be expert in coding. If you have several accounts go on git and download python scripts who will help you to automate process. For steemit it's open source.

Doesnt work the way. If you give yourself 1k votes and those accounts dont have SP you wont go viral. I have my own bot, however the Votes comes from real accounts as we help eachother. I will invest 200k into Steem to turn it into Steem power and then delegated 200 SP to the most active people in my group :)
 
But if you have 1000 accounts, you will be able to make 200 SBD per day (you can only upvote 20 times per day per account). The only problem I see is making such ammount of accounts hahaha
 
Playing the system is risky. Because people like to flag exploiters, taking away their earnings. Screwing around with randowhale is not way to earn money on steemit. Go write meaningful smart comments on peoples posts. You'll earn much more.

Also, never sell SBD for less than $1 . It's regulated currency, and always bounces back to that value.

Yep, commenting really is powerful. It even earns more than what my post earns. I'll try to comment 10 meaningful comments a day for a week and I'll publish the results. :)
 
I'll help you out with some votes. I have only 150 steem power, I withdrew most of it because I think steem value is decreasing over time. Inflation and several individuals holding most of it is not a good sign.
