I started this idea or plan around late 2016, but failed and started again late 2018. I've been browsing this forum for sometime and started to be a bit active in it, so I guess I should share my journey. Again around late 2018 i wanted to start a profitable streaming site or try to again. I won't say what niche or anything like that(it's not movies), but i wanted it mostly automated and easy to manage. I didn't and still mostly don't have much coding skills so keeping it simple was important so I've been using WordPress as my CMS. I found a good theme actually specific to my niche and not used by a million other websites, but still designed quite well with amazing features actually a great find. I bought an offshore VPS from a seller here actually and started to customize the theme through hours of trial and effort learned the ins and outs of it and did tons of customization to it and made it work for what i wanted my site to be. At the time i'm making no profit the VPS cost is coming out of my pocket, but the VPS i was using was fairly cheap.
After getting my theme i needed content which was the hard and expensive part. I posted a job on freelancer about making a site automated and i found a guy who talked me through the process of what i was trying to get done and how much he would need to do it. Ended up costing me around 200 usd to get a script that would fully populate my site and keep it updated with a click of a button. This still all coming out of pocket so i'm around 200USD in + VPS cost. Took about 3-4 days to fully populate my site because my VPS is cheap and couldn't take the load of the script so i had to make it run at a shit pace.
This takes me to the rabbit hole that was SEO man i was not ready for this shit.. I thought i just had to make social media pages and then hoorah, but no I started reading post on this forum. Web 2.0s, DA, PA, PBN, link juice and backlinks

WHAT? It was all overwhelming so i started simple installed yoast and set up basic meta generators for every content type. I had to figure out how to make my own keyword meta generator which took me hours to find out how to do something so simple. I also installed a plugin that auto generated alt titles for images in bulk and on upload because that's apparently important. I read up and followed every guide i could on basic SEO and tried to setup a good site structure or what i thought was good site structure. I then created and set up every major social media page i thought my niche would benefit from.
At this point i thought i was ready to go i set my site to be indexed by google setup a webmasters account on every search engine possible and announced the launch of my site on all my social medias. I also setup IFTTT webhooks on a few of my pages so that it auto updates my social media with new content that releases. I've had a few hiccups since then. My scraper stopped working because of structure changes which after weeks of reading and googling i actually figured it out myself and got it working again. I lost my job and wasn't sure how i'd be paying anything let alone my VPS bill, so this brings me to my journey to good monetization since i was freaking out for money. Which to this day i still haven't figured out.
My first setup was ad-center, popads and MGID at this point i had a steady following around 1kish constant viewers a day and i thought i was ready to monetize it all. Didn't work out my viewers dropped dramatically so did my bounce rate and i was shocked honestly i saw all these other big sites use popads so what gives? Anyway i decided to keep the popads only on the actual pages that stream a video and keep the frequency of popups low and that helped quite a bit. Now I kept things like this for sometime the site was 90% automated and i would just check monthly on progress and here comes 2019 guess what not much progress. I thought to myself it must be SEO it has to be something i can do to get my traffic going. Which leads me to today popads weren't making me shit because i didnt have shit worth of traffic so i dropped the popads kept native ads ads since they were not invasive and decided to go back into the rabbit hole that is SEO. I started building one backlink every other day 400 words minimum using different guides i've found here and around the internet. I started manually posting updates about things going on in my niche on the social media pages every now and then along with the automated IFTTT post and engaging with people who have been active on those pages for quite sometime now.
The current state of my analytics since dropping the ads and diving into different ways to grow traffic. Since i started again i don't make much profit not even enough to pay the VPS which i still pay out of pocket, but i do really enjoy doing all this it's really fun and sometimes frustrating but really fun. Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated from you pros around here.
