Hello everyone,
Although it says I have been a member here for 2 years I have actually just started using this site on the daily about 2 weeks ago. I have a couple of goals in mind after reading through alot of very good articles on this site and would like to share with everybody.
About Me
I am a 20 year old student at the University Of North Carolina and I am currently studying Mass Communications and Broadcasting. The whole idea behind my website initially was to get a very good head start for myself in this major. I plan to be a news reporter for 3-5 years and later move on up to the big boy behind the desk AKA News Anchor.
Next Gen Idea
For my first website: www.fifthavenuenews.com which was created only ten days ago, I have a HUGE goal for this website that has not been done yet. Although I can not speak up about what I plan to do with this website, I have a very good feeling about what I will be turning it into. ( Guesses are welcome ) When it comes to this industry I have been looking around at some of the new guys on this website and I like to see where I stand compared to them. Alot of them seem to be very short term goal oriented and personally I know that is that absolute wrong way to go about this. I know my website is going to take anywhere from 3-5 years to start doing what I need it to accomplish. That is not a problem for me at all, and at the end of the day I will appreciate all the hard work and determination it takes to get a website like this to the top. Back to the next gen idea, technology is advancing at the fastest rate it ever has. Advertising is moving from TV to the internet, Facebook produces 8 Billion video views a day and they only own 17% of online advertising. To say nonetheless, I am looking into what the web will be bringing users in 5 years and how I can take every advantage I can to help myself prepare for it.
Why I Am Creating A Journey Log
I created this log to achieve personal goals that I can set each day. A task becomes 10x easier when you create goals that need to be done throughout the day. This is not only something that is going to help me set goals but some recognition to what I am trying to accomplish as well. I have read other peoples journals on their journeys and they have been quite motivational. I welcome every type of feedback possible because at the end of the day I am still a noob in this industry and alot of the people on this site are not.
