Journey to learning German

Hello members of BHW. I am excited to announce that I will be starting to learn German. My goal is to become fluent. I visited Europe in 2016 and visited many countries such as Bosnia, Croatia, Italy, Germany, Slovenia, and Austria. However, I felt something different when I was in Germany. Some sort of connection that one can't describe. I loved the city of Munich. It was so beautiful, the landscape and the people. Anyway, I've started with Duolingo. If anyone has any other suggestions on better ways to possibly learn a new language, please let me know. I am a complete beginner. I just started the first lesson on Duolingo. I will try to update this thread with progress.

look for a tandempartner in your city. this worked for me with spanish. a tandem is someone who speaks the language you want to learn and you speak the language he wants to learn then you meet somewhere and just talk. helped me so much!
