Journey to learn SEO&IM and make any $

First of all, hello everybody. I've been lurking around here for a while now but haven't really posted much but now I need some motivation and maybe some help so it's time to make a journey thread

So what's up? I'm a 24 year old guy, financially fucked and looking to do something with my life. Probably sounds familiar. I've been taking small shots at IM but haven't really had much success and I've done only paid traffic. Mostly because I lack the patience and of course the skills but I suppose it takes one to get one.

What's my plan? Honestly I don't have a good one. I figured I have to start somewhere so I'm going to try to rank some sites. I hope I get at least somewhere with it and maybe learn something along the way that leads to something better. I've decided to start this thread, although I probably won't have many updates, to keep track of things.

What I've got so far (haven't received sites at the moment of this post):

2x niche sitest from BHW with 4 articles each + domains ($30 service + $12.70 domains)
1x small site bought from flippa (with marginal traffic, just a small shortcut so I don't get bored) ($72.03 + $10.96 domain transfer)
1x 1 month hosting ($12.30)

Total spent: $137.99
Total earned: $0


I'm not sure what I should invest in next to start generating traffic. I'll be taking care of the content writing myself as I'm quite decent at it and I can handle development stuff on my own as well. From what I gather it's backlinks to get indexed & ranked fast but I'm not sure. If anybody has some solid advice, I'm happy to hear it as I haven't ever tried SEO before.

A little update for myself I guess, suppose I should have named the thread "How I will buy a Boeing 747 in 2018"

Flippa site - been working on SEO for the posts that existed there. I think I'm making a little bit of progress, added Adsense to it and made my first cents.
2x sites from BHW - just received them today, they look good. Need to set up all the Google stuff

Also bought a domain to try something I saw in a journey here, will set it up when I get time.

Total spent: $137.99 + $15.02 = 153.01
Total earned: $0.21

Been also thinking about starting a BST here, I like making videos so maybe I could provide a service. Will probably invest in Jr. membership soon.

Good advice, learning is always the key!

Ok, stupid question time. I bought an amazon affiliate website from the marketplace which I would like to rank in the future. So what is the order of steps I should take? Wait for google to index my site and then buy some backlinks or it doesn't matter when I do it? Also which (affordable) package would you guys reccommend from the marketplace?
