Journey To An Awesome Authority Site

Hey guys,

Thinking of starting an authority site. I want to improve my English (even though I am not really bad at it). So I have decided to start an authority site where I will post 100% unique articles made by yours truly.
The site will review amazon products from a buyers perspective. I wont try to sell the product but I will just talk about the good and bad about it. This might even expand into a Youtube Journey.

Here is what I have:
Wordpress Skill
Approx $50
Some SEO knowledge.
Ideas on non spammy backlinking.

My Plan : I want to write at least one unique article a day which is about 500 words. I will post everyday to my site and do some steady backlinking (High PR). I will throw lots of social signal at it.
Keyword research: I will try to aim for products that have less competition and that has high search volume. Keyword research is definitely important.
I will do onpage SEO myself.

If anybody here is building review sites or authority sites feel free to post your advice below.

There are NO gurantees on updates to this thread. I will try to update it as much as possible.
First Step:
Get a 6 Letter domain preferably aged.
Get a really cool theme that has a wide menu bar (I will have lots of categories)
If you have theme suggestions please post below.

(500 Words is not really a lot. This post is about 250 Words and took about 6-8 minutes to write) Yes I think I have a good typing speed. I want to be faster though.

Good luck, I'm planning to make an authority site also. Everyday I'm trying to write a 500 word article on a long tail keyword. By the time I get atleast 25 articles I'm gonna start seo

Wrote a review after doing some keyword research
Purchased a $50 awesome review theme an installed it.
Installed Plugins.

Can you share exactly what on-page seo you do.
And what WP plugins use it.

hey, great post, hope your journey goes well. one thing, how did you choose your domain? I have tried to buy nice domains that are dropping in the past but it was always a hassle and expensive... did you buy from auction?

It is not available nulled. I searched everywhere I couldnt find it,
I bought it for 50 bucks.

Just did some awesome keyword research. Wrote two reviews based on the product keyword and published.
Installed Google Analytics. Installed Webmaster tools. Installed Google Authorship and linked it to my G+ Profile.
Sending some Pinterest repins and twitter retweets.

You need a better content strategy. This sound cool when you are all fired up and ready to go ... for about a week. After 10 articles it will be different, trust me

Better write one solid quality 500 word article per weeks, two filler crappier 350 word articles, one 2-3 minute YouTube video per week (screencast, slideshow or whatever) and some PowerPoint slides posts (embedded Slideshare) or 3 Instagram picture posts with two sentences of text. Or add a 20 minute podcast once per fortnight.

You'll kill two birds here. First, less writing but more quality writing and second, more multimedia content with more possible distribution channels.
